Many Google chrome users has been using chrome for nearly five years or more and have also been using the chrome lite page but yet don’t know the meaning. This chrome review will reveal to you the meaning of chrome Lite page.
On the 19th of March 2019 chrome announced a new feature called chrome lite page.
Important Of Using Chrome Lite Page
Chrome Lite Pages are designed to make pages load faster in Chrome if the network conditions are unreliable or if the connection speed is very slow.
Previously, this Lite feature was only available for HTTP pages. Now, on Android, Chrome is extending the function to HTTPS pages as well, meaning you’ll be able to browse faster and securely, even if your network connection sucks.
The optimizations are applied only under severe network conditions. Connections that use 2G or slow-2G may cause Chrome to display Lite pages frequently, as do pages that will take more than 5 seconds to reach “first contentful paint” according to Google.
How Lite mode works
When you use Lite mode, some of your web traffic may go through Google servers before being downloaded to your device. If the page is loading slowly, Google servers may simplify it so that less data gets downloaded to your device. Most of the time, your pages will look and work the same.
If you’re using Lite mode, keep in mind that:
- When you browse in private, Lite mode won’t work.
- Some websites might have trouble finding your location.
- You might not be able to use pages on a local network, like an internal company site.
When you go to a secure page that uses HTTPS, Chrome sends the URL to Google to load faster. Only the URL is sent, and Chrome doesn’t share your cookies or personal data with Google.
