How to use Android fingerprint lock

As an additional privacy measure, you can prompt fingerprint lock when you open WhatsApp on your phone. When this is enabled, you’ll have to use your fingerprint to access the app.

Enable fingerprint lock

1) Open WhatsApp

2) Tap the top right were you have three dots.

 3) Settings 

4) Account 

5) Select privacy

6) Scroll to the bottom and tap
Fingerprint lock.

7) Turn on Unlock with fingerprint.

8) Touch the fingerprint sensor in your phone to confirm your fingerprint.

9) You can tap to select the amount of time before fingerprint authentication is prompted.

10) Turn on Show content in notifications if you’d like to preview message text inside new message notifications.

How to Disable fingerprint lock

1) Open WhatsApp 
2) Go to the top right corner were you have three dots
3) Settings 
4) Account 
5) Privacy.

6) Scroll to the bottom and tap Fingerprint lock.

7) Turn off Unlock with fingerprint.

Note:

This feature is only available on Android devices with a fingerprint sensor running Android 6.0+ and isn’t supported on the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

In order to use fingerprint lock, you’ll need to have it enabled in your phone’s settings.

You can still answer calls if the app is locked.
